Avondale, AZ – Ear Candy Charity is teaming up with the City of Avondale’s iSync Program to host a community event to launch an Instrument Drive® benefiting the West Valley. The event will take place on March 9th from 2:15 to 5:30 pm at Sernas Plaza, adjacent to the Sam Garcia Library at 495 E Western Avenue and will include a performance by the Lattie Coor Elementary School concert band, programming by Avondale dance studio IMAGINE THAT, an interactive art piece, free food and more.
This community gathering will commence the 2011 Instrument Drive® efforts for Ear Candy in the West Valley. Individuals can donate new and gently used instruments locally at Avondale Fire Stations, Glendale Fire Stations, Phoenix Fire Stations, and Avondale Public Libraries throughout the year. At the end of the Instrument Drive®, Ear Candy Charity will place the donated instruments with music programs in need in the West Valley. In addition to receiving a tax receipt, instrument donors also receive a letter informing them of where their instrument has been placed, and how it is making an impact.
The Ear Candy Charity West Valley Instrument Drive® is made possible by the generous funding from the A. Wallace Denny Grant Fund for Music Education through the Arizona Community Foundation.
